How long does it take to see results from search engine keyword advertising?
My question is how long does it take to get clicks or impressions from keyword advertising like Google AdWords or similar after activating the keyword campaign?
Ridder, once your Google AdWords keyword campaign is activated, you can literally start generating traffic within MINUTES. But with the wrong keywords and/or the lack of buying power, you can sit there for days without a click. There are a few factors that contribute to the success of a keyword campaign (in this case, 'success' strictly defined as the receiving of clicks-throughs to your website's landing/destination page):
1) THE SEARCH VOLUME for the specific keyword/phrase (how many searches are conducted using the term you are bidding on)
2) THE COMPETITION for the keywords you're bidding on. Typically, the more competition for that term, the more you'll probably have to pay.
3) THE PRICE that you're willing to pay for that keyword/phrase (in essence, the higher you pay, the higher your ad will be displayed on their page). Ideally you'll want it to show somewhere on the first page of the search results. Note that this also usually means that less competitors for that term will require a lower bid. But this changes constantly.
It is important to remember that to achieve the most speedy and effective results from your keyword campaign, you must do keyword research on the terms you already wish to bid on. Not only will doing so ensure that you don't waste your time, effort, and/or money, more often than not, you'll discover keywords that you had not even thought of. If you haven't already used this tool, it is vital in your quest to produce traffic quickly and ultimately your successful results:
